President William Ruto, on Wednesday, October 29, thanked Kenyans for standing with him and his government until he lowered the cost of living of basic commodities.
Speaking during his tour of Nakuru County, the head of state made it clear that the lowering of the cost of living is something that has made his critics go berserk or, in simple terms, disappear into hiding.
Equally, the Head of State reminded Nakuru residents of the Azimio protests of 2023 that saw many leaders and Kenyans wear sufurias on their heads to signify hunger.

He stated that those who were leading the protests are no longer there after seeing his work in lowering the cost of living.
"Mimi nawashukuru, nyinyi ni wakuluma sugu sana. Mmenisaidia kuzalisha chakula. Si mnajua kuna watu walikua wananisumbua kule Nairobi kwa streets na sufuria kwa kichwa?
"Siku hizi wameondoka kwa sababu nyinyi mmenisaida mnazalisha chakula. Tumepunguza gharama ya borea, ghalama mbegu tuhakikishe ya kwamba wakulima wetu wanatusaidia kuzalisha chakula, tuondoe njaa..,"President William Ruto.
In the same breath, the remarks by President William Ruto did not go unnoticed on social media.

Several Kenyan leaders have publicly called out the Head of State, with some claiming that his remarks were targeting the late ODM Party Leader, Raila Odinga.
Leading the charge, the Eugene Wamalwa-led DAP-K Party, while responding to Ruto's remarks, wrote, "RIP Baba Raila Odinga. Your enemies are celebrating your untimely exit. Keep smiling. The fight goes on.

"We all know that Azimio, under the leadership of our departed hero Baba Raila Odinga, was the lead in Sufuria kwa kichwa demonstrations against the vices of Kaongo. Trying to mock his exit with such remarks is unpresidential."
